The True Cost(documentary) Screening; 'Empowering Ourselves by Disempowering Others'

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Did you know that the 'fast fashion' (H&M, Zara, Gap, Guess, RipCurl, etc) clothing item you wore last week was might have been made by a woman who probably made 2-6 cents (or less) making it? Did you know that relying on donating your clothes to second-hand stores can potential harm local economies and impoverish entire families? What about the fact that faux fur is sometimes made up of cat and dog fur?

In this workshop, you will get a chance to watch parts of the documentary The True Cost in order to understand what fast fashion really means. Learn about where your clothes come from or #whomadeyourclothes and become a conscious consumer by watching this documentary and engaging in a small discussion with your peers.
